The Living Gallery is a seasonal gallery dedicated to live art, vitality and life. Now in its third year, The Living Gallery operates during the summer months. It is curated by artist Ana Wild, who this year succeeded the gallery’s founding curator, Hila Cohen-Schneiderman.
Established by the School of Visual Theatre, the gallery centers on the exploration of live art within the exhibition space, a setting traditionally devoted to the visual and plastic arts. The Living Gallery thus asks questions about vitality, spectatorship, relationships, presence, and duration. From July through October, it programs exhibitions and events that explore the possibilities of art as living and life-giving; as a home for performative thought and practice; and as a space for engaging with contemporary Israeli-Jewish culture and identity through a vital and critical lens.
