Tours and activities for Highschoolers

The School of Visual Theater hosts workshops and introductory tours for teenagers.

The workshops are suitable for students from various art disciplines: theater, dance, visual arts, and cinema. The activities take place at the School of Visual Theater, located in the center of Jerusalem. The activities occur while the school’s  regular curriculum is taking place, in order to provide a comprehensive experience and exposure to the unique pedagogical language and worldview of the school. The introductory day includes a tour and discussion with the school’s administration, workshops in various fields, performances by school alumni, and a Q&A session with students.

During the workshops, students will be exposed to the world of performance and interdisciplinary creative thinking. Through group and individual work, students will explore various mediums – movement, space, object work, text, voice, plastic art, and more. Throughout the day, we will challenge and refresh existing perceptions regarding creation and division into different mediums, experiment with different mechanisms and motivations, and see how all of this can be used to understand creative processes in a new way.

At SVT, we see the importance of exposing highschool students from various art disciplines to the interdisciplinary and experimental approach to art. Additionally, the introductory day will allow students who are interested in this type of approach to submit their applications for studies when the time comes.
