Low Hanging Fruit
Low Hanging Fruit
A video-dance that deals with interpersonal relationships and their integral fragility, with intergenerational trauma and the choice of healing. The work takes place in the ‘unheimlich’, anti-domestic field, a home in which there is a sense of strangeness and alienation despite being so-called intimate and familiar. The juxtaposition between the body and the round, hollow plaster balls creates a potential for movement as well as breakage. The movement with the plaster balls is complex, the floor fills with broken pieces, a memory of previous experience, the remaining imprint. Through movement, electronic sound, and visual imagery, Iggy tries to look straight into the source. She meets with the material and tries to touch the small nuances of communication and intimacy.
