We make the world easier to understand by separating it into parts. For example, this world started when the heavens and the earth were separated. The partitions of this world are increasing. I don't think that's a bad thing. However I want to remove this separation as much as possible when I make my art works. To realize this, I focus on the relationship of ancient Japanese people with this world. They seem to had been connected to the world with a focus on "boundaries of things". What is the important "boundary" of our time? "boundary" is an important keyword for my creation.
There are 3 types of works in this exhibition. Paintings drawn with pigments made from soil collected in Jerusalem, works embroidered with wool on parchment (paper made from sheepskin for the Bible), and prints of broken cell phone screens. We see words like "fake news," "false flag operations," and "propaganda" in the news every day. It makes me think that the history we know is a collage of victorious countries history pasted on an unstable mount. I’m attempting to comment on the universal human question "Who are we?" based on folklore and religious perspectives.
