    Judy Adini

When I was a child my teachers called me Sunshine / I would go to sleep whenever I wanted / And each morning I would eat a bowl of star-shaped cereals / One day I grew up / I had a child in my belly / His heart was bigger than his intestines / And he knew what everybody was thinking / One day he grew so much till he ran out of room / Then he fell till he had no ground / Then he broke till he had no bones / Then he prayed

A bunch of overgrowns try to hang one on top of each other without falling. They open their hearts and feed everybody’s needs, stay close and try to numb out their longing. They touch the clouds and collide. Their necks are too long and their legs stay far behind, collapsing from being overweight.
