This Privacy Policy applies to visualtheatre.co.il (the “Site”), operated by The school of visual theatre in Jerusalem (“we”, “us”). It explains what data we collect, how we use it, whom we share it with, and your rights. By using the Site, you agree to this Policy.

Data we collect

  • Application & enquiry data: personal details submitted during admissions/visit requests or other forms (e.g., name, ID/passport number where applicable, date of birth, address, phone, email), CV, headshot, portfolio files/links, open‑ended questionnaire responses.
  • Application fee payments: processing via an integrated third‑party payment provider. Card details are handled by the provider and not stored by us beyond what is necessary to complete and record the transaction.
  • Direct contact: phone/email/office visits via the Contact page; quick messaging via WhatsApp where offered. WhatsApp processes your data under its own terms.
  • Newsletter: if you subscribe, we store your email address to send updates (opt‑out anytime).
  • Technical & security data: Site protection with Google reCAPTCHA (subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service), cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality, security and aggregated analytics.

How we use your data

  • To manage admissions, schedule auditions/interviews, process application fees and communicate about your application.
  • To respond to enquiries, arrange visits and provide student/department information.
  • To send newsletters where you consent.
  • To protect the Site (including reCAPTCHA), prevent fraud and improve services.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Legal bases (where applicable, e.g., EEA/UK visitors)
Consent (e.g., newsletters), performance of a contract or steps prior to a contract (processing applications), legitimate interests (Site operation and security), and legal obligations.

Sharing your data
We may share data with: (i) infrastructure/technology and admissions tools (hosting, email, analytics, file storage) under confidentiality and security commitments; (ii) payment processors for fees; (iii) external platforms you use (e.g., WhatsApp); and (iv) authorities where required by law.

Google reCAPTCHA is used to protect forms; your use is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. You may control browser cookies; blocking some cookies may affect functionality.

International transfers
Your data may be stored/processed outside Israel. We implement appropriate safeguards where required by law.

Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to safeguard data. No system is 100% secure.

Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes above (e.g., the current admissions cycle) and as required by law, then delete or de‑identify it.

Your rights

  • Israel: right to review, correct or delete personal data under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law.
  • EEA/UK (where applicable): rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, data portability and object, subject to legal exceptions.

Children
The Site and admissions processes are not intended for children without parental/guardian consent. If we learn that data was collected contrary to this Policy, we will delete it.

We may update this Policy. The latest version will be posted on the Site with an updated date.
