Laissez-Passez

Laissez-Passez

A border on the border, carrying a heavy bag.
My body itself is an archive. I carry it.
Expression is detained by the concept of “In-Between”,
Where am I from? I’m from here…
I was born here.

Delays and bag searches,
And I turn my face through foreign pages.
Every bone in my body raises questions,
And every answer resembles a lost bag.

I am my language
And meanings fall like leaves in the search.
My presence is a map
Borders are only lines.

I search among the stamps,
And find myself– a number on a long list.
And the bag grows heavier.
Life, between the question and the answer, becomes a file.
Where am I from? I’m from here…
I was born here.
