Breaking news: XOXO
Breaking news: XOXO
Since her early childhood, the TV would broadcast impossible love stories, alongside unthinkable news. Her Hollywood-Disney-en set of expectations – collapsed, along with the political value system that cracked down somewhere in the 90’s (or even before that).
And yet – there is hope.
Because peace doesn’t come without war, courage cannot exist without fear, and love would not burn if there wasn’t any risk of getting scorched.
So yes. Hope.
A pop opera centered around a heroine who’s moving between personal heartbreaks and the collective heartbreak.
Love and politics reflect one another as in a warped mirror, destabilizing the lines between the personal and the public, the intimate and the ideological.
Through original songs and visual imagery, the piece portrays unexpected links between the yearning for love and the longing for peace – at this moment in time, when both are betrayed.
