Safari

Safari is an immersive art event for the whole family, created by artist Amit Drori. It offers a rare opportunity to join a guided journey through an artificial nature reserve, inhabited by dozens of robotic animal sculptures — machine-creatures developed over many years for performances staged at major venues in Israel and around the world.
In Safari, visitors can closely examine every detail of these creatures’ bodies and discover how they were constructed with anatomical precision and an almost extinct craftsmanship that breathes life into them, giving them movement and human-like expression. The mechanical-animal nature of the sculptures transforms the gallery into an imaginative, playful environment, where light and sound are also generated by robots and pre-programmed systems.
At the end of each tour, a special workshop developed by Drori will take place, where children can create their own imaginative mechanical animals.(Participation in the workshop requires a separate ticket.)
The project is presented as part of the Sidratarbut series, supported by the Mandel Foundation and managed by the Jerusalem Foundation. It was developed and produced by the Interdisciplinary Arena for MoBY: Museums of Bat Yam, and was first exhibited in the summer of 2023.
