Camp
Camp
Life at this moment, in this place, seems to exist within an ongoing end. Amid physical, moral, and spiritual ruins we try to find shelter, to hold on to one another, to sustain thought and culture. To look together at the past, and mostly at the present; to mourn the impossibility of the future, but also to rejoice in it.
The seminar will take place inside a scenography of a camp, made of tents and mattresses, furniture parts, ruins and remains. Something between a refugee camp and a parking lot crowded with civilians during wartime alarms; between a youth movement camp and an imaginary, magical camp in a children’s game. A temporary space in which we take shelter from a collapsing world – or simply, from reality.
There, over the course of several hours, we will gather. Thinkers will present ideas from their research, alongside artists who will give those ideas other forms – a song or a play, for example. Together, they will converge into a kind of play, a time of reflection and action: shared thought, embodiment, and conversation.
