In this course, we will study and refine our awareness of the body and its expressive possibilities. We will become familiar with various movement and body techniques, engage in improvisation with a focus on fundamental elements such as posture, isolation of body parts, movement through space, musicality, and more. We will also explore core questions in composition: How does a movement sequence become a form of speech? How do improvised actions turn into a creation? And how can a conceptual idea be translated into physical motion?
Each session will be divided into a physical warm-up, improvisational work, and observation of exercises.
