Elective course for Second year

Ada Rimon

Ada Rimon is an independent animator and illustrator, a graduate of the Screen Arts Department at Bezalel. She lives and works in Haifa. Together with Ofeq Shemer, she creates short films that combine analog and digital techniques. Their films have been presented at festivals and exhibitions in Israel and around the world.

The course consists of two semesters. In the first, we will explore and practice the processing of reality for the screen. We will attempt to isolate and examine various components of a place – what makes it what it is, what characterizes it, what it is made of, and what it means to me. Through short exercises at home and in class, we will experiment with transferring ideas onto the screen. The second semester will be entirely devoted to creating one personal (or collaborative) film. We will start from a concrete place that each participant chooses and conclude with a screening in the classroom. The lessons will focus on group discussion and guidance of each project. Throughout the year, we will watch beautiful films, occasionally leaving the classroom for tours and experiments outdoors.
