In this workshop, we will explore what a “creative state of mind” is, how to access it, how to develop it, and how to expand our ability to remain in it. We will investigate how to maintain a productive studio, how to create a supportive atmosphere within it, and how to translate spiritual or artistic needs into practical frameworks. We will deepen our understanding of the importance of vibrant, vital energy on stage, in the workspace, and throughout the process of artistic exploration. We will learn how to find inspiration in space, in the moment, in our partners, and really, anywhere. We will learn to work together: how do I perceive my partners, how can I amplify their presence, how do I allow myself to be moved and influenced by them? We will practice helping to develop each other’s ideas, and we will explore what it means to have a renewed stage presence and real-time listening. This class places at its center the vitality and transience of stage work. It is about people. About life. Please come dressed in comfortable clothing.
