Alive Show
Alive Show
Jerusalem Premier
The piece was devised as a reaction to the tremors of 2020 – global pandemic, social distancing, existential fear and complex experiences in virtual space.
Out of the state and feeling of collective survival, questions arose about the role of art in troubled times; where does art take place, what is essential, important or necessary about it. Now, when conditions are different yet the survival-mode prevails, the future is obscure, those questions expende to the realm of the meaning of humanity, how does it face threats from every direction.
“Alive Show” is, foremost, a reflection on art and artists as “alive”, as shifting, changing, affected, surviving things. The piece is a fantasy depicting a futuristic world, where survivalist impulses transformed us into mechanical creatures, moving between detachment and immense emotions.
