Elective course for Second year
Nir Shauloff
Nir Shauloff is an artist and theater creator. His works span performance, sound, and text and are presented in theater and art spaces. He holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree from Tel Aviv University. His work has been exhibited in Israel and around the world, including venues such as Das Bauhaus in Dessau, Mousonturm Frankfurt, the Tel Aviv Museum, Gessnerallee Zurich, Schwankhalle Bremen, Jerusalem Season of Culture, the Bat Yam Museum, and more.

With its disasters and remarkable achievements, the twentieth century brought about a profound change in theater and in the understanding of it as an art form made out of humans. The course will focus on the performative turn in art, and in the political structures in which it operates. It will present various proposals from the last hundred years — works, texts, and ideologies — that have shaped the performance art to this day. The course will include both theoretical and practical assignments.
