Nir Shauloff

Nir Shauloff is an artist and theater creator. His works span performance, sound, and text and are presented in theater and art spaces. He holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree from Tel Aviv University. His work has been exhibited in Israel and around the world, including venues such as Das Bauhaus in Dessau, Mousonturm Frankfurt, the Tel Aviv Museum, Gessnerallee Zurich, Schwankhalle Bremen, Jerusalem Season of Culture, the Bat Yam Museum, and more.

In this course, we will examine contemporary performative structures, and explore various ways to organize a performance: hidden dramaturgies, devises for activation and different kinds of human presences in the realm of the stage. Collectively and individually, we will ponder on secrets, and try to invent our own stage code. How can we articulate the contract between time, space and audience? Can we formulate the negotiation between image, material and medium? What is the performative instance made of?
