Cyclone
Cyclone
Something very deep has cracked and broken,
A gaping hole has opened within me,
And out of it, a turbulent vortex formed.
I want to drain my entire self into it,
Because there is no space left inside me.
They say that in the eye of the cyclone,
there is absolute silence,
And the sky can be seen with perfect clarity.
Inside this storm, which destroys and consumes all,
I am trying to find a prayer.
Let the electricity purify me,
dwell in the void within the chaos,
surrendering into the cyclone.
The performance is an electrical ritual: a shamanic-electronic ceremony combining vocals with a no-input mixer: a mixer with no external source generating a sound loop into and out of itself. Through words and sounds that have undergone deconstruction and distortion between points of harsh friction and dissonance, I am trying to discover how harmony, chaos, and the tensions between them can create a new form, or a vortex.
