Dor Zlekha Levy
Dor Zlekha Levy (b. 1990) is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in the creation of video and sound installation, video art, and multimedia performances. The unique working process he develops, in collaboration with musicians, turns sound into a driving element in his creations. In his works, ancient folk traditions become the basis for original audio-visual installations. In recent years, he has focused on working on site-specific installations situated in national parks and historical sites such as the Bell Caves in Beit Guvrin and the Pool of Arches in Ramla.
This course explores the video medium and experiments with its various uses in creating art installations and live performances. The course will focus on tools originally developed for the design and stage world, adapting them for artists’ use in the making of installations and live performances. The course will teach advanced skills in video editing and composition software, as well as working with video as a dynamic element in live performances. We will explore the technique of video mapping, which allows the adaptation of digital content to the physical medium on which it is projected. Special emphasis will be placed on the relationship between video and sound, as well as skills in cinematography and documentating installations.
The course is intended for graduates of video editing courses who feel comfortable working with Premiere or DaVinci Resolve software. During the course, we will learn to work with Resolume Arena, thus a suitable laptop to run the software is required.
