Rats are true mammals, they’re the reason we dominated the world, sitting patiently and running away. Arthropod crabs putting their claws up against a sentient being that invented gunpowder, they have no proportion.
“Letting nature take its course” is no longer a valid method when kits for editing genomes are available on Amazon. Plastic containers end up at the same place where organic matter does, that’s how nature wants it. Several hundreds of thousands of years of decomposition are necessary to create valuable natural resources. When it comes to resources, there are no shortcuts.
