I Want to Share a Scream
I Want to Share a Scream
Mom calls me and I come over. We are standing on the fence. Mom is screaming loudly with her mouth. I am scared.
Now it’s your turn, she says. I choke and cry. I sing.
This is a product of repeated attempts to make a sound. This is the melody that arises when our trust is shaken and fear takes over the ability to move. Sound echoes in space, echoes in the cells, moves the water inside our bodies. Opens spaces of attention to things we might not be able to see, but are able to feel.
