Different From the One that Will Come After Her

The waters close to me

Flow slower than the waters far from me

The trees close to me

Grow faster than the trees far from me

And the wind plays them all

The trunk is like the earth

Hard and rugged

In a second glance, it’s like the water

Waves rising over its surface

He and I both stand

And the wind wanders everywhere, all the time

The motivation for this project didn’t begin with the question of what I want to accomplish with the work but rather where I want to spend my time. The answer was nature. It heals the heart and soul from all the noise. So I went to it. I wished to create a relationship with it. To discover shapes and rhythms. I observed, listened, and immersed myself in it. Every encounter brought feelings of infinity and nothingness. I asked to collaborate with nature and to step out of it into the artistic medium. I knew it was a lifelong journey. Right now, I’m only taking a few steps.

The performance was created as part of the New Department program at SVT, with the support of the Jerusalem Foundation
