I Diss-Appear
A live performative album. A world inhabited by all of the mechanisms that drive its creator – the body, the image, sound and light. By using a camera to document the live performance, Yael Weiss creates a feedback loop, which amplifies and multiplies every parameter that feeds into it, creating a kind of abyss for the gaze (Mise en abyme). The body is divided into three brains – the physical brain in which the body is sensual and sexual; the emotional brain where the heart functions as the center of emotions and communication, the strongest driving force of all; and the intellectual brain – the organ of conception, dissective and analytical. Together, they generate a desired chaos of relationships with reality.
